Pro Arte Quartet

The Pro Arte Quartet is one of the world’s most distinguished string quartets. Founded by conservatory students in Brussels in 1912, it became one of the most celebrated ensembles in Europe in the first half of the 20th century.  The world-renowned ensemble of violin, viola, and violincello has made its home at the University of Wisconsin for more than 75 years.  in 2012, Pro Arte became the first and only quartet to reach its centennial anniversary commemorated with a grand multi-year celebration.
